Broussard Communications is a boutique PR firm representing hospitality clients - restaurants, wineries, hotels and artisan producers in the Northwest. Founded in July 2004, and intrigued by the "story behind the story," we work closely with clients to recognize their individual needs while communicating their story and brand to target audiences.


Broussard Communications is looking for a dynamic PR Coordinator to provide day-to-day public relations support, including PR writing, media pitching, press kit management, media tracking and reporting, social media management, in addition to assisting with special events, photo shoots and TV appearances. The ideal candidate is a creative and curious food-lover, organized team player, and stellar writer.


PR Coordinator Description:

  • Writing, including drafting press releases, media pitches, and social media posts

  • Write, build, and distribute client newsletters through platforms like MailChimp, Fishbowl, etc.

  • Manage editorial calendar and monitor lead generation services, pitching stories to appropriate media

  • Track media coverage and day-to-day client reporting

  • Manage social media – Instagram, Twitter, Facebook - for Broussard Communications and clients

  • Developing and managing client PR Updates and Press Kit materials including fact sheets, clients bios, photo library

  • Manage Broussard Communications calendar with client and industry events, conferences and awards

  • Maintain and update the Broussard Communications media list

  • Attend press events (new restaurant openings, book signings, cocktail parties), assist in event production including managing RSVPs, checking in media, and driving social media campaigns

  • Assist with local TV appearances and photo shoots

  • Creating graphics for media events, and social media

  • Event listings for clients

  • Website management


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business or related degree

  • Previous experience at a PR agency is preferred

  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills

  • Fluency in social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and emerging outlets

  • An interest in food, wine, and hospitality

  • Positive attitude, a team player

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and diligent about follow through

  • CMS & HTML knowledge

  • Graphic design experience a plus

  • Video and photography experience a plus

  • Extremely hard working, ready to learn

  • Independent worker, and self motivated
